Wisconsin ( WI ) Labor Law Quick Facts:

The Wisconsin minimum wage is $7.25 per hour effective July 24, 2009, putting it on a par with the federal minimum wage. The state “minor wage” has been eliminated. Employees under 18 must now be paid the full state or federal minimum age. There are a number of exceptions to the new Wisconsin minimum wage including camp counselors and golf caddies. The tipped minimum wage remains at $2.33 per hour, although employees under 20 can be paid $2.13 per hour for the first 90 consecutive days of employment. A new state law extends benefits to domestic partners of gay men and women who register with the county clerk, although gay marriage is still illegal.*
