Kansas ( KS ) Labor Law Quick Facts: Effective July 24, 2009 most Kansas employees are entitled to the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour. The Kansas minimum wage remains the lowest in the nation at $2.65 per hour until January 1, 2010. On that date, it will increase to $7.25 per hour – a $4.60 increase and the first in the state since 1988. The state law applies to employers and employees who do not engage in interstate commerce, and to employers with less than $500,000 in annual revenue.
