The Georgia minimum wage is $5.15 per hour, but most employees in the state are covered by the federal minimum wage law, which increases from $6.55 to $7.25 on July 24, 2009. The federal minimum wage law applies to employers who have revenue of $500,000 per year or more, or who engage in interstate commerce. Georgia has no laws requiring meal periods or rest breaks for employees over the age of 15.
